iTimeBox helps you break big goals into manageable sessions so that you can focus, get started and achieve what is most important to you.

iTimeBox is not a time tracking application. Rather you commit to a specific activity, a specific amount of time and start work. While a session is running you focus only on that activity and nothing else. When the session is over ... Congratulations! you’ve met your goal.

For example, a friend of mine used iTimeBox to track his physical therapy sessions after shoulder surgery. 3 times a day for 10 minutes he focused on this one activity and was on his way to recovery. You can do the same for studying, exercising, learning a new language, practicing an instrument, etc.

iTimeBox works well with established time management techniques such as Timeboxing, Pomodoro and GTD and is particularly good for “fuzzy” or continuing goals. In many situations we want to get better regardless of our exact performance. Here, spending our time and attention deliberately matters much more than traditional measurable outcomes.

Consequently, a session’s duration can be viewed as a minimum or a maximum. Some tasks are difficult to start or feel overwhelming because they will take a long time to complete. In these cases we can set a minimum time and completing the session is one step toward meeting that goal.

Other tasks seem to naturally take up all available time and we can use iTimeBox to limit the time we devote to them. These can be reward type activities but even important productive activities sometimes need to be limited to allow time for other essential activities.

iTimeBox lets you review your past completed sessions so you can get an understanding of how well you are keeping up with your goals and help you find a balance in your life activities.
